Water Temperature: It looks that
everything is remaining very constant around here, we
barely have temperature changes, maybe as soon as we
enter October we notice some drastic changes on our
water at the East Cape.
Air Temperature: We had some very hot
days, but more than everything humid, but acceptable for
this time of the year, but if this means better fishing
who cares!
Fishing Spots and Distance: Most of the
fishing was done by Los Frailes area, also at the Farito,
that is south from Los Frailes, about 30 miles south
from the Hotel. Some of our boats also fished the
Lighthouse area getting some dorados from there. Another
guys went out about 40 miles east, and found many tuna
schools in the area.
Off-shore Fishing: The biggest bite was on
dorado, lots of 20 pounders in Los Frailes area, tuna
slowed down this week but the ones caught remain very
good size. Billfish came back we saw a lot this week,
but only 23 were caught, but thats a good sign for you
guys coming on October.
In-shore Fishing: With the squid on the
area let me tell you that bottom fishing is great, lots
of snapper, cabrilla and other different kinds of fish
are biting at the banks of the area.
Bait Used: We remain using sardines and
jacks, plus the all the squid you would like to take.
Highlight of the Week:
Our good friends James Kussel and John Oliver ended up
their week with two very nice 80 lb Yellowfin tuna.
Mr. Jean Claude Langue first timer, made 3 Sailfish and
1 Striped Marlin with his son Pierre from SLC, UT.
See you next week!!!
Saludos from your second home in paradise!
